- HALLOWEEN QUESTION OF THE DAY: What's your favorite movie monster?

My Answer: Godzilla is an obvious choice for me since I've seen almost all his movies. As a kid I was quite fond of Dracula-style vampires but now that I'm older I like the awkward Nosferatu-types!

Oh god, the unfamiliar tapping sound
Sometimes the scariest things aren't monsters under a bed or something disgusting and horrid.
but if you throw in a door closing by itself and some strange unexplainable footsteps, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep for weeks

As for the question, I'm afraid to pick of obvious vampire werewolf or zombie. Even though Zombies tempt me so much.
But I think I'd have to go with Elizabeth Bathory, it may not really be a monster, but I've read a little about her and seen a few films, and she's the most interesting to me.

My favorite monsters will forever be zombies .

Even if a Cthulu movie is made . And I would be so excited for that , but zombies would still be my favorite movie monster.

My favorite movie monster growing up was, sadly, not a monster at all. My favorite horror movie as a kiddo' was The Birds. You know? That Alfred Hitchcock one about the nutso crows that attack and kill random people?

These days, my favorite would have to be werewolves. Not the Twilight "magical" ones. But the Van Helsing and Underworld ones. Rise of the Lycans was my thing... Totally.

"While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, 'tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'"

I just noticed something.

"Old" - Medieval armour
"Kid's stuff" - Teddy Bear and Jack-in-the-Box
"Seen it" - Tentacle monster with giant Eye.

@ Blue-Senoire - NOPE! You don't get time to think about it. It's a gut reaction thing. So here it is everyone: Blue-Senoire's favorite movie monster is Grandma.

@ YumYumKamakaze - Hey, good pick! Elizabeth Bathory is totally a monster. Bathing in virgin blood does a body good!

@ The One That's Not Dead - There have been several great Lovecraft movie adaptations (*cough*RE-ANIMATOR*cough*) along with a version of Call of Cthulhu. I've not seen it but I heard it was pretty neat, especially considering it was a silent film, but made only a few years ago!

@ Akiaa - Good pick! The original 'Alien' is maybe the scariest movie. That's probably because I watched it when I was too young to be watching a movie as scary as Alien, but it holds up even today!

@ Klonoa64 - Do BB guns make a "tap tappa tappa" sound?

@ cliffi - I looked it up and it seems Jack-O is a man with a pumpkin for a head. It also has 2 1/2 stars out of 10 on IMDB. Sounds like my kinda movie!

@ AutumnrainChaos - Zombies - they're hip, they're cool, they're now, they're WOW!

@ Squiggles - The Birds is great! A silly idea with surprisingly successful results. As opposed to Van Helsing, which was a successful idea with unsurprisingly silly results. (werewolf murdering your love interest, cracks me up every time)

@ Sunnykitty - Snow-Do is back, WITH A VENGEANCE.

@ Asiaticfox - I'll just leave this here: http://www.fanpop.com/spots/halloween/videos/2450364/title/simpsons-version-poes-raven

@ Immer - Ha! Wouldn't you know it, I just did a page of an upcoming story today where Luffinpuff calls someone a Negative Nancy...

@ Asiaticfox - Thank you for noticing, even if it wasn't entirely intentional! I honestly didn't even think about the "Seen it" and eyeball connection till you pointed it out. Thanks for making me feel clever! :D

@ Topazmagic - Sounds like love to me!

@ tezzle - It's almost like you have a comic about him or something...

@ RazorD9 - Werewolves are great! American Werewolf in London is great. The (original) Wolfman is great. New Moon is... funny.

@ niftyspiffyinajiffy - Looks pretty occupied to me.

@ MoreThanOnce - Scrabble?

@ fr33z3dry - He commits monstrous crimes, so I guess maybe on a technicality he could.

@ yehram - My fave SH guy is definitely the dude in the pink bunny suit covered in blood who just kinda... shows up places.
